Facebook backtracks, lets users post gory videos Facebook has reversed course and lifted a ban on gory videos showing real-life decapitations, with officials saying it is important for users to be able to share and discuss information about "human rights abuses, acts of terrorism and other violent events." Facebook said it reserves the right to take down videos posted out of "sadistic pleasure" or with the aim of inciting violence. "People share videos of these events on Facebook to condemn them. If they were being celebrated, or the actions in them encouraged, our approach would be different," the company said.
